The Next Time
If you ever wonder whether God can use you?

May I suggest you consider the following:
Abraham was too old and tried to pass his wife off as his sister (twice!)
Samson was a total party animal & womanizer
Isaac was a daydreamer
Jacob was a habitual liar
Leah was plain ugly
Esther wore fish net stockings and tons of makeup
Joseph was abused by a dysfunctional family and went to prison
Moses had a stuttering problem (And was a murderer & bigamist)
Gideon was outnumbered
Noah got drunk & slept with family members
Rahab & Mary Magdalene were both prostitutes
Timothy was much too young
David hooked up with his nextdoor neighbor’s wife and then had her husband bumped off
Mathew cheated on taxes
Elijah was bi-polar and suicidal
Isaiah preached butt naked (but only for three years…!)
Naomi was a widow & penniless
Job went bust & bankrupt
Jonah ran & swam from God
John the Baptist had bad B.O. & ate bugs
Jeremiah griped to God a lot
Peter said he never knew HIM
Thomas demanded to see the nail prints
The Disciples snoozed while Jesus prayed
Zacheus was a midget
Elisha was bald and possibly practiced the comb over
Martha was a worrywart
And Mary never, ever made her bed or did the dishes!
Balaam’s Ass was smarter than He was
Paul had round shoulders and had been a pharisaical religious fruitcake before Damascus
The woman at the well had five husbands (and divorces)
Timothy had a bleeding ulcer…AND
Lazarus was deader than a doornail!
And God mightily used all these uniquely different people.
So, Press On! No More Excuses! God can use you T-O-D-A-Y.
“…Forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,
I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3: 13-14
